I don't mean to brag but I'm an empty nester.
One of the perks is that the kid's bathroom is always clean.
Instead of scrubbing out the tub before company arrives, I'm dusting it.
We did this wooden countertop about four years ago.
Only about 25 people were reading my blog back then so I thought I'd give you a condition update with new pictures.
This is one of our best DIYs to date.
The wood for the counter was only about $25.00.
The sink was $60.00.
The faucet was $99.00.
I've done two stupid things to mar the finish of the countertop.
One involved hair color. The other may or may not have involved nail polish remover.
I'll never tell.
The hair color blends in and isn't noticeable. Fortunately, my hair is the same tone as the wood.
I sanded the other spot and hit it with a little more Urethane.
Shhh. Don't tell Bill.
I will say that I'm not thrilled with the faucet.
We are having trouble with the lever that pulls up the drain.
I can understand having this problem with a cheap faucet.
$99.00 isn't cheap, if you ask me.
I've tried fixing it and couldn't. Maybe Bill can.
Trimming out the mirror is still on my list and it should have been completed a long time ago.
I've also entertained the idea of new light fixtures.
I hope this inspires you to tear out your old cultured marble sink and counter.
This has held up perfectly even though I'm a klutz.
I adore the wood with the white cabinets so this is a classic in my opinion.
Have a great afternoon.
