10 Things to do in New York

I love New York!
I grew up there and it is near and dear to my heart.

I literally get goose bumps when I fly over the city.
I've been back twice since my son moved two and a half years ago.
There is so much to do, so by all means this is not a definitive list.
Here are a few things to do in this magical city.

My top 10 things you have to do in New York City.

#1. Tour the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island

#2. Go to the Bronx Zoo.

#3. You must visit Farara's Bakery.
This bakery has the most amazing cheese cake.
Pop down to Little Italy a little earlier and eat dinner first.

#4 Make plans to eat Chinese Food in China Town.

#5 Take a walk through Central Park.

#6 You must visit Rockefeller Center.

You might just see Obama's motorcade.

#7 Shop on Fifth Ave

#8. Visit the American Museum of Natural History

#9. Pay your respects at the 9/11 Memorial

#10. Meander through the Metropolitan Museum of Art

There you have it.
Some of my favorite things to do in New York City!
It may not be too late to visit at Christmas time.
It is just magical.

  1. Hi Katie,
This is on my bucket list. I want to take my hubby and SIL that are firefighters to the 911 memorial. We would love to take a family trip to New York. Do you know of a good way to stay near the 911 memorial and what airport we fly into etc. Any info would be so helpful.
    Hugs,
    Kris

  2. Hi Katie, NY is also on my list to visit sometime. My hubby has been for work many times, but I have not. Been close and almost but not there yet. Loved your photos and recommendations. I'm originally from Michigan so I guess we understand snow!! Have a great week. xo

  6. We live on the West Coast so New York is a big vacation for us. I've been 3 times and would drop was I was doing immediately if someone asked me. I've done all except 1, 2 4 & 8 on your list. We have actually watched Obama's motorcade drive past, but in SoHo.

  8. I have never been to NYC so this list would come in handy for sure! I would love to visit the 9/11 memorial and walk thru Central Park. I bet it's beautiful during the holidays. I've heard that the window shop displays are very impressive.
