Five Fall Essentials/ Essential # 1 - Plaid Throws

Hi guys,
Thanks so much for your support of our tour through Texas.
I hope you enjoyed all the links.

Here is a link to all the posts in case you missed it - here.

I wanted to do a series of posts about my five essential elements of fall decor.
I use these over and over, year after year.

Plaid Throws

Plaid throws are a must have for my decor.
They look so stinking cute in autumnal tones.
I have them in browns, blues, reds, and grays and just love them.

They add great texture, pattern, and color to a neutral interior.

I've gotten mine at Pottery Barn, IKEA, and Tuesday Morning.
Walmart even has them on occasion.
The vintage ones came from a thrift store.
They get dropped off at the cleaners on my way home from the store.
You can also find them on eBay.
Plaid throws are a great decor item not only for fall but for Christmas too.
Have a great day.
Please come back tomorrow.

  1. I am a plaidaholic ~ I know there is no such word, but I am going with it anyway! Plaid throws add instant coziness and charm in any color and in any room. I have always loved plaids and both wear and decorated with them. Your black and gray plaid throw is lovely.

    Susan and Bentley

  2. We do not have a single plaid throw - you've made me realize I need to remedy that asap!

  3. Plaid is big this season. Love all your plaid throws. The one outside with your boots is so pretty.

  4. Beautiful throws Katie and they look so pretty in your house. I just gave my daughter four vintage ones to take to her Ranch house for guests. We had not used them for years. I think I still have one plaid one left so I must display it. Mr.Z. has to have a throw most of the time, but it is the Dallas Cowboy one and nothing plaid about that one.
    Your home is beautiful.
    Hugs,
    Audrey

  5. Your plaid throws add such a cozy look to your Fall decor, Katie. One thing that I especially loved was the cute chair with books that you must use as an end table...so clever!
Thanks again for all you hard work in organizing our Fall in Love With Texas Blog Tour. We appreciate you!

  6. I agree, Katie. A stack of plaid or tartan throws is a must. Love your brown and floral needlepoint pillow.
