Hot Onion Dip

It isn't too late to make this dip for your New Year's Day gathering.
I've taken this dip to several events and it gets demolished.
I found a version of it last year while searching Pinterest for hot dip recipes.

This is a hot onion dip made from caramelized onions.
I love caramelized onions!
You will need:

3/4 of a large onion
3 Tablespoons butter
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 block of cream cheese
1 heaping cup of shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup smokey cheese
Dash of Chipotle Pepper seasoning

Combine butter and chopped onion in a skillet.
Caramelize over medium heat.

Mix softened cream cheese, cheddar, mayonnaise and Chipotle pepper seasoning until blended.

Add the onions and mix well.

Spread into a serving dish.

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until brown and bubbly.

Serve with your favorite cracker.
We like this with Wheat Thins and Baked Ritz but it's good with Lays Potato chips.

I hope you will give this a try.
I love it not only because it is delicious but because I almost always have all the ingredients on hand.

Even non-onion lovers love this dip.
"This is amazing!" said my foodie brother.
That is high praise coming from him.

Happy New Year's Eve!

Countdown To The New Year

I love grouping my vintage clocks on the mantel for the new year.

I took down the tree but we still needed a bit of sparkle.

Some lights draped with a banner do the trick.
The fun banner was made from a drop cloth.

Tuesday Morning had some adorable clock ornaments.

Mercury glass tea lights and the ornaments are sprinkled around the first floor.

This gold one is just too cute.

Thanks for counting down with me.

We Had a Great Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas.
Did you?

Christmas Eve selfie.

It was too hot for a fire so we watched (I watched) one on T.V.
Santa came a little early so we had plenty of time to relax.

I think everyone was pleased with their gifts.

The cat never needs a gift.

Chris brought us bagels from New York.
Can we get these overnighted to us every weekend?

Santa was good to me.
I'm thrilled with my white Dutch oven from Le Creuset.
Bill totally surprised me with this.

We sat out on the deck on Christmas afternoon and had a lovely fire in the fire pit.

I got Bill a little fire place/heater for the sunroom.
We just turned on the fire because we didn't need the heater.
It was almost 80 degrees on Christmas day.
This weather has been so strange.

We were spared the severe weather on Saturday but had hail on Sunday and snow this morning.

My thoughts and prayers are with those who were hit by the tornadoes as a result of Goliath.

Did you have a wonderful Christmas?
I hope so.

I pray peace for you this Christmas morning.
May the miracle of Christmas wash over you.

Just A Few More

I have a few Christmas photos you haven't seen.

I finally got the stair garland up.

It got the same shimmery branches from Hobby Lobby.

I'm getting that itch to put all this away.
I love Christmas decor but I love when it's all put away.
 Are you ready for Christmas?
The only thing left to do is cook the food.
Enjoy these last few days!
