Sunflower Pillow

Hi friends.
Michael's had this cute accent pillow on sale during the spring.

Since the sunflower is the motif of the month over here, I thought I'd pop back into Michael's on the chance they had one.
They did but it wasn't as cute as I would have liked and it was not on sale.

Pottery Barn has had some cute sunflower pillows in the past.
Pinterest was able to produce images in a nanosecond.
They had a painted one.
Bingo!
I set up the Cricut.
Bill got this for me for Christmas.

One of my goals this summer was figuring this thing out.

It had a good blossom for the sunflower.

My stenciling skills came in handy to get a good base to hand paint the sunflower onto drop cloth material.

The French words were an important part of this project.

The system had quite of few good templates.

The larger letter and number stencils came from Walmart.

Twenty three is the date of our anniversary and I've used it numerous times on different projects.
I was almost done when I messed up the last stencil so I started all over again.
I let the second cover dry overnight and stitched up the pillow this morning.

This was so much fun to make. I'm loving the Cricut.
There may be another pillow in my future for the fall.

  1. Katie, it came out great! I have no idea how the Cricut works, but it looks like you succeeded in mastering it!

  2. I always wanted a Cricut, but I know I would be totally frustrated with the technical part of it. You did a great job on your early autumn sunflower pillow! Just think what you can do with that machine!
