Christmas Dining Room

The dining room was given very little thought. I'd been too busy planning the Nordic Christmas for the rest of the rooms.

It came together after a Thanksgiving night trip to Michaels. The little candle ornaments were just too cute.
The berry garland was on sale and it has a perfect hint of frost.

The Lenox has been collected over the years.
Bill will often get me one for Christmas.

This tree needed to have some black to coordinate with main living area. However, I didn't care for the black by itself so the red plaid helps balance the black.

The wreath got the same frost and tip treatment that I wrote about last week.

I'm wild about the addition of the secretary in here.

The key is a perfect place to hang a little star ornament.
The snow globe and the snowman trinket box inside were gifts from Bill.

The Lenox snowman was a gift from him as well.
This Christmas I ended up using a lot of sentimental things to decorate this room. I'm putting out the gifts and treasures collected and handed down through the years.

The Holy family is Goebel. It is just like a set my parents had. I won it off of eBay when I discovered that I misplaced the baby Jesus to their set.

The dishes are new to us. We got them recently from Bill's mom. Her mother painted them as part of her trousseau in 1928.

These dishes were one of the reasons why it was imperative that we have black decor and ribbon this Christmas.

The centerpiece is the topiary from the grocery store last year and a new reindeer from Hobby Lobby.

He's a cutie.

That is it.
Thanks for stopping in.

  6. Everything looks so pretty! I'm feeling a little disoriented not having my own space to decorate this year, but I'm enjoying finally getting to visit around and see the lovely things you're working on : )

  7. Love this room and the white is making my heart beat faster! I have a buffet of my mom's that I've got to paint and put out. It was where she served her meals.
